IT’S NOT EASY TO BE BOSS, JIMMY!
FORMER Football League star Jimmy Bullard is already learning about the harsh realities of management – his first game as Leatherhead boss saw his side denied victory by an injury-time equaliser!
The 37-year-old former Peterborough, Wigan, Fulham, Hull, Ipswich and MK Dons midfielder is starting out on a new chapter in his career and kicked every ball from the sidelines as his side drew 1-1 at Folkestone Invicta in midweek in the Ryman Premier, the third tier of Non-League football.
“The players were brilliant and they showed me that they want to play for this club and for me,” said Bullard. “I can’t fault them, they gave me everything and I am over the moon. I feel like I have played myself !”
And Bullard is eager to work his way up the ladder, just as he did as a player.
“I am being dead straight with everyone,” he said. “This is a career path for me and I am right at the beginning of it.” See our sister paper, The
Non-League Paper, for an in-depth interview with Jimmy Bullard
