WAGNER CAN HOLD HIS HEAD UP HIGH

-

GUTSY and determined. David Wagner can be proud of his side’s performance despite being overtaken at the top of the Championship.

His side, as expected, struggled after Rajiv van la Parra lost his head but they still showed why they can compete with the best in this division.

And they could’ve nicked something at the death despite only conjuring a few chances with ten men in a largely one sided affair.

It just wasn’t Nahki Wells’ day. And he usually loves scoring against the Royals. He spurned an opportunity late on and in truth there wasn’t much between these sides.

As for Reading, Jaap Stam’s comments were as fair as they were honest. He knows his side are far from complete but he can be proud of their achievements thus far.

Since their 2-2 draw with Brighton in August, the Royals have only shipped two goals in five league games and it is no surprise that the former Manchester United defender has made them so resolute.
