U’S GET SECOND SLICE OF CUP PIE

LUCKY Oxford United have been selected for FA Cup live television coverage for the second round in succession.

The U’s were on BT Sport in their first-round tie at Merstham last weekend – and donated their share of the gate receipts to the Ryman League club.

Now, their second-round tie at National League side Macclesfield Town has been chosen for live coverage on BBC Two and will earn them a fee of £72,000. The match is on Friday, December 2 at 7.55pm.

Other ties selected for live coverage are Westfields/Curzon Ashton v AFC Wimbledon/Bury (Sun, Dec 4 at noon on BT Sport 1, 6pm if it’s Curzon Ashton v Bury) and Lincoln City v Oldham (Mon, Dec 5 at 7.45pm on BT Sport 1). Second-round prize money is £27,000.

Another highlight of the round is the all-League One clash between Bolton and Sheffield United on Sunday, December 4 (2pm). The full draw is – Friday, Dec 2: Macclesfield v Oxford.
