YORWERTH GROWS UP

CRAWLEY Town defender Josh Yorwerth is convinced his loan spell at Welsh side Merthyr Town has seen him mature as a player.

The Wales-born defender, 21, scored three goals in eight appearances in all competitions for the Southern League Premier Division outfit, before being recalled to the Broadfield Stadium last month.

“We knew it would be tough there but everyone was excellent,” said Yorwerth. “Sometimes you have to take one step back to take two more forward and that's what I've done.

“I think it's matured me it was good and now I'm happy to be back.”
