COLCHESTER UNITED midfielder Doug Loft has revealed he has been playing with an Achilles problem for two years.

Loft, 29, has made just four appearances for the U’s since moving from Gillingham earlier this year, having been sidelined since August.

He suffered a partial tear in his Achilles.

“This has been the most frustrating period of my career,” said Loft, “but I’m hoping to get back for the games around Christmas and then crack on and help push us up the league.”
