SCUNNY STAR FEELS FOR SUGAR ‘REJECT’

- By Sam Elliott

IT’S fair to assume Thursday night was spent watching the TV from behind the sofa in the Bishop household.

Channel-hopping Scunthorpe midfielder Neal saw Sheffield United go level on points with the Iron on Sky Sports… as his wife, Frances, was being fired on BBC show The Apprentice!

Billy Sharp’s late winner, which saw the Blades go joint top of League One, arrived at almost the same time as Lord Sugar’s famous finger pointed.

It ended the 25-year-old brunette’s ten-week stint on the show. She just missed out on a place in tonight’s final, and a chance of earning a £250,000 investment.

Neal, 35, has been giving his wife plenty of stick for her performances.

Frances, who was aiming for Lord Sugar’s financial help in her discount children’s clothes business, lost eight of her ten challenges – but her charm was enough to keep her in the show until this week.

“I have been giving her plenty of grief,” said the former Notts County and Blackpool man. “But I’m very proud of her. She has done incredibly well. The lads were trying to get some insider information from me about who won, but we’ve managed to keep things quiet.”
