JONES: I COULDN’T RESIST BANTAMS

- By Paul Eddison

ALEX Jones had options when it came to deciding his future this week but claims the lure of a club as big as Bradford was just too tempting to resist.

The 22-year-old striker has penned a two-and-ahalf year deal after joining from Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.

Jones had been on-loan at Port Vale this term – already notching ten goals in 21 games – and the Valiants agreed a fee with Birmingham, only to fail to agree personal terms with

his agent. Instead, the highlyrated marksman finds himself in a promotion battle with the Bantams.

“As soon as I knew a team the size of Bradford were interested in me, I was always drawn to them more than the others interested in me,” said Jones.

“I am delighted that I have been given the opportunity to come here and hopefully I can repay their faith with some goals.

“Having spoken to the club prior to signing, they were all about nurturing young players my age. That really stuck out for me – I hope I can improve as a player and help the club.”
