EAMES IN POLE FOR BARNET HOTSEAT

- By Ben Baker

INTERIM manager Rossi Eames is now the favourite to become Barnet boss fulltime, having taken charge of the side since Martin Allen’s departure last month.

Eames and assistant Henry Newman have worked together after Allen left to take over at National League Eastleigh, and 31year-old Eames could be set for the job permanently having helped the Bees to victory over then-leaders Plymouth Argyle last Monday.

He is tipped for the role ahead of former Millwall and Wolves boss Kenny Jackett, with Sol Campbell, in what would be his first managerial role, and Ronnie Moore the other contenders for the position.

Meanwhile, Eames and Newman have been impressed by new quartet Ricardo Santos, David Tutonda – both 21-year-old defenders – 24-year-old striker Simeon Akinola and midfielder Dan Sweeney, 22, who have all arrived at the Hive since the start of the January transfer window.
