BRIGHTON’S team selection and their win grabbed all the headlines at the Amex Stadium.

But behind the storylines there was an eyecatching performance from 23-year-old Chuks Aneke.

London-born and, for a time on Arsenal’s books, the gangly midfielder is on a year’s contract at MK Dons having moved briefly to the Belgium top-flight side Waregem to hone his skills. But the way he caused panic in the Brighton defence in the opening 20 minutes with a snapshot that forced a reflex save from Niki Maenpaa, and set up a string of chances for his team-mates, would suggest his long term destiny lies in a higher division.

With ex-MK Dons star Dele Alli lighting up the Premier League, he could have Aneke for company.
