CARLTON’S A TARGET FOR NOLAN

-

MANAGER Kevin Nolan has set his sights on bringing former West Ham team-mate Carlton Cole to Notts County – should the club come out of their transfer embargo.

Striker Cole, 33, left Celtic in August and is a free agent after a spell in America with Sacramento Republic, but the Magpies are under a transfer embargo because of money owed to HM Revenue & Customs and other football clubs.

“We have had a chat,” Nolan said, of the former England frontman. “It would be fantastic if I could bring him over.

“He will be a breath of fresh air. He is a top pro and a good player.

“If we can make it happen and the embargo gets lifted, then we will try our best to do that.”
