No.9 IS A MAGIC NUMBER FOR WES

-

FLEETWOOD striker Wes Burns says he is thriving with the extra responsibility of the No.9 shirt.

Burns signed permanent terms with the Cod Army last week after spending the latter half of last season on loan.

The former Bristol City frontman, 22, says he is determined to help fire Fleetwood into the promotion mix.

Uwe Rosler’s side continued their excellent run of form with a hard-fought win over Sheffield United in midweek, making it five league wins on the spin.

“The fixtures are relentless in this league and everybody can beat everybody,” said Burns. “We need to prepare properly and look after ourselves.

“Everyone is really upbeat and we know what we need to do in each game. The main thing is to take each game as it comes and keep racking up the points.

“It was really good to be back, especially with having the No.9 on my back too.

“It comes with a lot of responsibility but I’m glad I’ve got that pressure and it’s going to drive me on.”
