ROSLER USES FOXES TO INSPIRE HIS MEN

- By Charlie Bennett

LEICESTER City’s remarkable Premier League success has set the trend for smaller clubs looking to punch above their weight.

Fleetwood Town boss Uwe Rosler is using the Foxes’ triumph as inspiration for his own ambitions this season.

Like Leicester, Fleetwood were fancied for a struggle at the bottom, but their incredible campaign has captivated supporters.

Their unbeaten league run stood at 18 games and launched them into the top two, before yesterday’s mammoth clash with Bolton Wanderers.

The Cod Army have their destiny in their own hands. Though the pressure is cranking up every week, Rosler thinks they can cope.

And he has urged his side to plough everything into the final two months and complete a magical campaign.

“Nobody could see that Leicester City would win the Premier League and nobody could see that Fleetwood Town would be ahead of Bolton with ten games to go,” said Rosler.

“It is a great opportunity for us. I said to the players these next two months could change their lives.

“Two months more of sacrifices, training and playing to your limit because it can change your life.

“As in life, you need to choose the opportunity when it comes around. I hope my players use that great opportunity for their own sake, for their own careers and their families.”

Fleetwood are the surprise package among the promotion contenders, with Sheffield United, Bolton and Millwall all expected to be in the fight.

But, with expectations already surpassed, Rosler is convinced his troops can attack the final few games with abandon.

“I say to the players there is no pressure on us. The only pressure we have is to perform to our ability,” he added.
