IT’S TIME TO STEP UP – COOK

-

PAUL Cook has challenged his stable of strikers to stand up and be counted now that Eoin Doyle is potentially out for the rest of the season.

The 29-year-old Irishman, on loan from Preston, suffered a groin injury against Newport last weekend and the initial signs are not promising.

“It doesn’t look great and that’s a massive disappointment for us,” Cook said. “It’s not just what he does as a player, it’s his effect on the team.

“He’s a team player and he was doing that to a tee. It’s a disappointment, but it will offer a chance for someone else.”
