LAIRD IS KEEN ON SADDLERS

IF SCOTT Laird has things his way, he’ll be at Walsall for the long haul after admitting he doesn’t see a future for himself at Scunthorpe.

The left-back has excelled for the Saddlers after joining on loan and has no desire to go back to Glanford Park.

“I’m loving it here at Walsall and I don’t want the season to end,” said Laird, 28.

“Hopefully, I can be here next season but there are a few things that have got to be sorted out.

“Scunthorpe are in a bit of turmoil. Hopefully, they come through it. I have another year but I don’t think my future is there.”
