YORKSHIRE PRIDE!
Sheff United and Doncaster on the up
IT WAS party time in Yorkshire last night as Sheffield United and Doncaster Rovers both sealed promotion.
The Blades came from behind to win 2-1 at Northampton thanks to John Fleck’s 88th-minute winner – and clinched promotion back to the Championship after a six-year absence.
Delighted Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, who won promotion with Northampton last term, said: “This club was drifting, it shouldn’t have been drifting – but I’ve come in and done my best.
“We’ve not only pulled it around on the pitch, we’ve done it off the pitch, too.”
Tommy Rowe scored the only goal of the game as Doncaster beat Mansfield to earn promotion from League Two.
