NORTH END HAVE NO ANSWER FOR ROOFE

-

SIMON Grayson’s decision to go with three at the back looked to be paying off early on as wing-back Greg Cunningham caused problems for the hosts.

With better finishing Tom Barkhuizen could have given Preston the lead on another day, but the attacking combinations of Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez were too much for the visitors to handle.

With the pair switching positions frequently throughout the first half as Leeds poured forward having weathered Preston’s early storm, it was no surprise they were the two players who extinguished any hopes of a result for the visitors as their three-man defence got caught out time and again by the constant movement in Leeds’ attacks.

Preston had more joy when reverting to a 4-3-3 formation but it was too little, too late with all the already damage done in the first half, and Grayson’s men tasted defeat for the first time in six games.
