ROVERS HAVE THAT EXTRA BIT OF QUALITY

-

IT WASN’T pretty, but Rovers won’t care.

Their hard-fought 1-0 win over Mansfield left players and fans celebrating after Donny’s promotion to League One was finally confirmed after several months in the offing.

It was nothing more than Rovers deserved for an impressive season which has seen them right up there throughout.

There wasn’t a lot to chose between the two teams, yet Rovers displayed that little bit of extra quality in attacking areas – the sort of quality that turns draws into wins and secures promotion. While the defeat does not end Mansfield’s own promotion hopes, it leaves them with a mountain to climb with just five games left.

Jake Kean was one bright spark for the Stags as he made save after save to keep them in it; Mansfield will need him to keep that kind of form up if they are to claw their way back up the table.

They now sit four points off the play-off places.
