UNLUCKY FRYATT IS FREED BY FOREST

-

MATTY Fryatt’s injury nightmare has not had a happy ending, with the striker leaving Nottingham Forest after more than two years on the sidelines.

The 31-year-old suffered an Achilles injury that put his career in doubt in 2015.

Despite finally returning to training in March, the former Leicester man didn’t manage a return before the end of the season.

Fryatt, who has gone under the knife multiple times, has been released.

In his programme notes for the final match against Ipswich, manager Mark Warburton said: “His twoyear battle with injury is well-known but he has worked tirelessly and it is to his enormous credit that he is now back to fitness.

“We look forward to watching the next stage of his career, wherever that may be.”

Fryatt, who also had spells with Walsall and Hull, first joined Forest on a three-year deal in August 2014. He found the net six times in 26 appearances before what would prove to be his final appearance for the club at Charlton in March 2015.
