KAM HAS TIGERS ROARING AT LAST

- By John Hunter

LEONID Slutsky is still confident of keeping Poland international Kamil Grosicki at the KCOM this season following his scintillating performance against Bolton.

The Hull winger first set up Adama Diomonde and then Jarred Bowen before producing a fine solo run and finish in a devastating firsthalf display.

Bowen added the gloss to a comprehensive Tigers victory with two minutes remaining and the Hull boss was quick to sing the praises of Grosicki’s display.

He said: “Kamil, when he wants, he can win each match in the Championship.

“It’s like two sides of the coin. On one side it was an unbelievable performance, on the other side there was the possibility to leave.

“I think everybody is thinking about the best for himself but we’ll see. Next week will be very exciting about new players but we’ll be very nervous about our players.”

The visitors woes away from home started almost straight away as captain Jem Karacan was forced off following a challenge from David Meyler, a challenge that left many in a Bolton shirt calling for a red card.

But it would soon get much worse for the Trotters as Grosicki took the game away from Parkinson’s side almost single handily.

The Poland winger surged down the left before crossing low to Norway international Diomande who slotted home his first goal of the campaign.

Grosicki was at the centre of things once more just six minutes later as worked his way to the byline before standing up an inch perfect cross for Bowen who duly headed beyond the helpless Mark Howard.

And the winger rounded off his near perfect first 45 minutes with a fine strike.

New signing Sebastian Larsson released Grosicki down the left before the winger cut inside Dorian Dervite and fizzed his effort low into the bottom corner.

Bolton switched to a four-man backline in the second half in a bid to stem the free flowing Hull attack but lacked any incisive attacking threat.

And the drubbing was complete as Bowen raced clear with two minutes to play and finished beyond Howard for his fourth goal of the season.

It may have been a chastening night for Bolton but manager Parkinson believes Hull should have been down to ten men following Meyler’s first half challenge on Karacan that he felt changed the whole game.

“How that wasn’t a sending off, I’ll never know,” the former Hull City manager said.

“It’s a leg-breaking challenge. It’s a very dangerous challenge and in this current climate it should have been a straight red.

“I’m sure when the referee looks at it again, he will see that.

“We were second best all over the pitch but Hull were outstanding.

“We need to regroup and come back ready to do the basic things on the football pitch. We gave the opposition a huge lift tonight and gave the ball away cheaply.”

With under a week left in the transfer window Slutsky admitted he is working very hard to bring in more players as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

He said: "We are working very hard on the transfer market. The international break is a very important time for us. For everybody it's a break but for me and the club it's a very difficult time.”
