KRYSIAK CAN’T KEEP KESHI OUT

- By Chris Spittles

SWINDON Town continued their impressive away form with a seventh win on the road this season as they hit back to deservedly beat struggling Yeovil.

Rhys Browne put the Glovers ahead early in the game, but from then on Swindon dominated, only to come up against an inspired goalkeeper in the shape of Artur Krysiak.

Krysiak made a series of impressive saves to keep Yeovil ahead until Kellan Gordon equalised on 67 minutes.

And the visitors completed their comeback in the 89th minute as Kaiyne Woolery crossed for Keshi Anderson to slot in the winner.

Swindon manager David Flitcroft said: “We were criticised after only drawing at Chesterfield last week but my players were galvanised by that and showed great spirit to come back from a goal down.

“We were sloppy in the first five minutes and were punished for that by conceding the goal, but after that there was only one team in it and we deserved to win.

“We’ve got a great relationship with our away supporters and I think they appreciated the passion shown by my players in winning the game.

“After that first five minutes it was the most one-sided game I’ve been involved with for a long time.

“Their manager said before the game that we were a direct team but we have passed them off the park, especially in the second half.”

Yeovil lost at home for only the second time this season and boss Darren Way said: “It’s always disappointing to lose at home but the players gave everything and I can’t fault their effort.

“There were lapses of concentration that proved costly and some of the younger players in my team would have gained valuable experience.

“You look at the Swindon team and you can see the quality they’ve got. They had good options on the bench who came on to make telling contributions and as a club they have big resources for this level.

“Our players gave it everything they had but made mistakes at crucial moments and need to take that on board.”

Yeovil took a fourth minute lead as Browne tricked his way past Matty Taylor before blasting in a near-post shot which was deflected into the net.

The visitors reacted well to that setback and Luke Norris saw a close-range header saved before Anderson saw his angled drive fly just wide of the target.

But it was Krysiak who kept Swindon at bay with two superb saves to deny Timi Elsnik.

First the Polish stopper kept out the midfielder’s low shot and then he dived full length to keep out a looping header. Swindon equalised on 67 minutes as Krysiak denied Harry Smith, only to see Gordon blast home from the rebound.

And then with 90 seconds of normal time left, sub Woolery crossed for Anderson to tap in the winner from close range.
