OLLY GLEE AS HE NETS THE PRIZE

- By John Lyons

IT’S no great surprise that Luton midfielder Olly Lee is the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month winner for November. Against Cambridge, Lee spotted U’s keeper David Forde off his line and fired home a stunning shot from inside his own half. That was the Hatters’ second goal of the game as they thrashed Cambridge 7-0. Lee received 47 per cent of the public vote to bag his prize. “I just nicked the ball in midfield, looked up, saw the keeper off his line and thought why not,” said the 26-year-old. “It was just instinct. I’ve scored a few good ones, but that’s definitely the best. Rooney’s (for Everton against West Ham) wasn’t bad, but mine was a little bit further out!

“It’s great to get a bit of personal recognition, but the main thing is the team is doing well and hopefully we can stay top of the league.”

In the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday winger

Adam Reach claimed the accolade for his stunning first minute strike in the 2-1 win at Aston Villa. The 24-year-old powered forward and hit a dipping left-foot volley into the top corner from 25 yards.

“It was one of them where you dream of striking a ball like that,” he said.

Curled

“It just dropped and I never broke stride. I didn’t really have time to think about what I wanted to do. I just hit it. Thankfully I’ve caught it sweet.”

Reach picked up 55 per cent of the votes. Scunthorpe winger Josh

Morris scored two superb goals against Charlton in a 2-0 win in late November – and the second of them has earned him the League One honour.

With his ‘weaker’ right foot, Morris, who won with 47 per cent, curled a beauty into the top corner to wrap up the points.

“I don’t think I had many other options. It was either shoot or get tackled,” said the 26-year-old. “I’d just scored a couple of minutes previously, so my confidence was high. I decided to hit it and thank God it went in.”
