Viv leaves it late to perform a robbery

- By Scott Hunt

PLYMOUTH manager Derek Adams claims Blackpool stole two points from his side as Viv Solomon-Otabor struck a 94th-minute equaliser.

Blackpool found themselves two goals down at the break through Ruben Lameiras and a stunner from Graham Carey.

But Gary Bowyer’s side, who now have just one win in their last 12 league games, hit back through Colin Daniel before grabbing that late leveller.

Despite extending their unbeaten run to five matches, Adams was frustrated his side didn’t win.

“Blackpool are a very lucky team today,” Adams said.

“We are obviously disappointed because we have lost two goals in the second half without Blackpool being a real threat to us. They’ve scored two scrambled goals and find themselves lucky to get a point.

“David Fox should have scored to make it 3-1 for us. If he’d done that there would have been no way back for Blackpool.

“Blackpool have stolen two points from us. We should have had three points, they don’t deserve to win the game, we deserve to win the game.”

Plymouth took the lead with their first effort after 39 minutes. Carey picked out Lameiras on the edge of the box and his low shot beat Ben Williams at his near post.

Carey doubled Plymouth’s lead on the stroke of half-time with a sensational goal. The winger struck a dropping ball over his shoulder, from the left edge of the area, which looped over Williams and hammered into the far corner.

But the Seasiders were back in it after 55 minutes through Daniel, who latched onto a clearance from a corner and drilled in low from 20 yards.

Blackpool pushed late on and got their reward as SolomonOtabor struck a low effort from 15 yards. which crept inside thepost.

“Derek Adams is entitled to his own opinion,” Bowyer responded. “I think he has to kid the Plymouth public and his local paper probably. We’ve had 20 attempts at goal and double figures for corner so yes, we were very lucky! It was oneway traffic second half.

“The fact of the matter is Plymouth have had two shots on goal and took a point off us. We are having to score two goals to take a point and that’s not acceptable.

“Obviously we are aware of the poor run we are on. We need to eradicate the soft goals that we’ve given over the next month or so.”
