EIGHT EXIT IN JIM’S OVERHAUL

MORECAMBE avoided relegation on the final day of the season but that has not stopped boss Jim Bentley wielding the axe.

The Shrimps have released eight players, including captain Michael Rose and vice-captain Dean Winnard.

Midfielder Rose, 35, and defender Winnard, 28, were important figures on and off the pitch during their time at the Globe Arena and Bentley admits it was not an easy decision.

“Releasing players is always one of the hardest parts of the job and is incredibly difficult to do,” said Bentley.
