A GREEN LIGHT FOR ARTELL...

THE signing of Paul Green is the first of many for Crewe Alexandra – at least that is what boss David Artell hopes as he looks to get his business done in a hurry.

Green, 35, was released by Oldham at the end of this season but joins Alex after impressing on loan at Gresty Road in the second half of the campaign.

“I want to make sure that our ducks are in order as much as we can,” said Artell. “If other clubs come in for the same player, then we are knackered. It is as simple as that because we will struggle to match them financially.

“I would like to get ahead of that curve.”
