BARRY: WE HAVE BEEN IN BUBBLE

-

FOR too long, Cambridge have believed they are a bigger football club than they actually are – according to owner Paul Barry.

The U’s posted losses of nearly £700,000 for the 2016-17 financial year and the American-based Barry – who took over the club in February of this year – is not impressed with the club’s dealings.

“The budget for 2018-19 has been worked on again and again, with numerous cuts of over £500,000,” he said. “The last four years, it seems the football club has been living in a bubble. That is a bubble of believing it is bigger than it is and having aspirations to match.”
