POTTER LEFT TO ASSESS KEEPER OPTIONS

- By Tom Blackett

SWANSEA are expected to be without goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt for up to a month following a groin injury he sustained during the recent win against Preston.

Sweden international Nordfeldt, 29, suffered the problem after 23 minutes of the 1-0 win at Liberty Stadium, with Erwin Mulder coming on in his place.

Nordfelt had hoped to make the No.1 jersey his own this term, having been back-up to Lukasz Fabianski for the past three seasons.

Manager Graham Potter said: “Kris’ injury is not as bad as we first thought.

“He could be out for between two and four weeks, although it may be less. He is itching to get back.

“It’s disappointing for Kris, but Erwin came on and did well against Preston.”

Meanwhile, Potter confirmed injured striker Wilfried Bony’s future at the club remains unclear.

Bony, 29, is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in February, and Potter said: “He is making good progress, he is not too far away from joining the group.

“He is a great character to have around, he supports the boys and he should not be too far away from joining training.

“I would not say our stance has changed. We know what he offers.

“It will depend on how his rehabilitation goes. I imagine we’ll see him in the group soon so it’s a case of seeing how it goes from there.”
