WE WILL TURN IT AROUND – ANDY

- LEAGUE ONE By Tom Harle

ANDY Barcham isn’t beating about the bush – he knows AFC Wimbledon aren’t delivering.

The fleet-footed 31-yearold is in his fourth season at Kingsmeadow and, having helped lead the club to promotion from League Two in 2016, has no intention of letting their third tier status slip.

The winger, one of the first names on Neal Ardley’s team sheet and part of the play-off winning side against Plymouth, is under no illusion that seven defeats in nine represents relegation form.

“We’re trying to work really hard to sort things out as quickly as possible because we know we could be a lot better off than where we are now,” said Barcham.

“It’s difficult going, but the boys and the coaching staff are working hard to put it right.

“We’re all in this together. It hasn’t gone our way, but the team spirit is good here and we’re going to keep working hard, keep trying and we won’t stop until we get it right.

“I believe we can because we’ve got a very capable squad.

“We all know we’ve been under-achieving, but we all want to work hard so that we can get it right sooner rather than later because we really think we can achieve something this season.

“With it still being early days we’ve still got time to do that, but we have to start turning these performances into results and that’s what we’re going to look to try and do.”

The Dons are edging closer to moving back home with the site for their 20,000-seater stadium at Plough Lane now fully cleared and ready for building to commence.

The whole of the old greyhound stadium has now been demolished, a process that began in March, with the West Stand demolished last month.
