WE MUST BE MORE CLINICAL, INSISTS ROBBO

- By William Pound

NOTTINGHAM Forest left-back Jack Robinson has called for the team to learn from their mistakes.

The Reds surrendered leads against Blackburn and Millwall, and Robinson wants to close out games more effectively in order to rise up the standings.

“It is frustrating and the problem we have is not seeing games out,” the 25-year-old said.

“We are taking our chances, but it is coming to the final third of the game and we are not killing teams off.

“We just need to look back at the videos, see where we went wrong and learn from it to take it into the next game.”

Forest’s lack of clinical edge means points have been dropped, but Robinson knows that can turn around quickly.

The Reds finished 17th last season, with manager Aitor Karanka making 14 new signings during the summer transfer window.

“This league is so up and down; you just need a good run of form, put a few wins together and you can fly up the table,” said Robinson.

“It is about being consistent and getting the results you need.”

Karanka still has belief in his players, despite something of a frustrating fortnight.

He said: “The training has been good, the atmosphere has been good, knowing that they are happy, but disappointed at the same time.

“It wasn’t the same as one week ago when we had won three games in a row; they were happy because they are a really good group of players.”

Striker Lewis Grabban is also staying positive and remains focused on the long-term objectives.

“It is a long season,” the 30-year-old said. “We want to be at the top near the end of the season, not necessarily now.

“We will keep going about our business and see where it takes us.”
