REACH IN RUNNING FOR TOP EFL GOAL AGAIN...
IF YOU want to vote for your Goal of the Month in the EFL divisions in September, you need to be quick.
Voting on skysports. com closes tomorrow, with the winners being announced on Friday.
The Championship contenders are Preston’s Alan Browne, Aston Villa’s John McGinn and Sheffield Wednesday’s Adam Reach.
Browne has been nominated for his perfectly hooked finish against Bolton, McGinn for his exquisite thigh-high volley against Sheffield Wednesday and Reach for his audacious dipping effort against Leeds.
In League One, the three contenders are Sunderland’s Chris Maguire, Peterborough’s Ivan Toney and Rochdale’s Aaron Wilbraham.
Maguire hit a stunning 25-yarder against Burton, Toney finished superbly into the far corner to round off a fine team move against Gillingham and Wilbraham netted with a fine dipping volley against Portsmouth.
In League Two, the vote is between Morecambe’s Liam Mandeville, Bury’s Danny Mayor and Stevenage’s Ben Kennedy.
Mandeville collected the ball on the angle of the penalty area against Bury and produced an inch-perfect lob.
Mayor turned in possession, raced forward and whipped home an unstoppable 20-yarder against Grimsby.
Kennedy netted a peach of a left-foot curler for the winning goal at Carlisle.
The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll. The shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, Sky Bet sponsorship manager Michael Holinski and EFL senior media manager Rob Meaden.
