Whites boss admits to tactical blunder

LEEDS boss Marcelo Bielsa admitted to a tactical blunder as the Whites slumped to their second defeat of the season.

Top of the pile a month ago, Leeds have now won just one of their last five games and look a shadow of the side that ran amok in August.

Danny Graham and Darragh Lenihan punished some awful marking at set-pieces either side of a Mateusz Klich equaliser, but it was the visitors’ deficienci­es at full-back that caught the eye.

Adam Armstrong had a field day against Stuart Dallas, before the Scot – a winger by trade –was mercifully switched with Gaetano Berardi.

By then, however, the home side were a goal up and rampant, riding a wave of momentum that Leeds never truly managed to arrest.

“It was my mistake,” said Bielsa. “I thought too much of the offence and not of Armstrong, who has unique qualities. He makes diagonal runs and becomes a second No.9.

“It hurt us and I think I should have noticed that before the game. I should have realised that the right positions were the ones the full-backs moved to later. If I had taken the right decision, we would have avoided some difficult moments.”
