NATHAN MARVELS AT IMPACT OF BOSS TERRY...
BLACKPOOL striker Nathan Delfouneso has run out of superlatives to describe his boss Terry McPhillips after the club secured a sixth league win of the season in midweek.
The former Aston Villa player scored the winner in Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Gillingham as Blackpool continued their push for the League One playoff places.
The Tangerines sit three points outside a place in the top six with a game in hand and Delfouneso believes that with McPhillips at the helm, there are no limits to what they can achieve.
“He’s done a great job, you can see how well he’s done out on the pitch,” said the 27-year-old.
“He hasn’t changed much to be honest with you. Being involved himself with the previous gaffer, he’s just continued the good form.
“We’re capable of achieving anything, as much as we want to, but we’ve got to take it game by game, not get too excited and don’t get too ahead of ourselves.”
Meanwhile, Armand Gnanduillet will be available for Blackpool’s return to league action against Southend United after missing yesterday’s FA Cup first round clash against Exeter City.
The 26-year-old striker had already missed three games following his dismissal against Fleetwood last month, but he admitted to a further charge for his reaction to the straight red at Highbury.
In a statement, The FA said: “Armand Gnanduillet will serve a one-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an FA charge.
“The Blackpool player’s behaviour in the tunnel following his dismissal against Fleetwood Town on October 27, 2018 amounted to improper conduct which was outside the jurisdiction of the match officials.”
