TOMAS AIMS TO SILENCE LIONS’ ROAR...

- By Dan Barnes

BRISTOL City defender Tomas Kalas has fond memories of past encounters with Millwall – and it hoping to make hay against the Lions this afternoon.

Lee Johnson’s men brought a four-match losing run to an end with a dramatic 3-2 victory at Ipswich in midweek and go looking to build some upward momentum when they roll out the red carpet for Neil Harris’ strugglers (1.30pm).

Chelsea loanee Kalas enjoyed back-to-back clean sheets against Millwall last term as he helped Fulham to promotion glory and the Czech Republic international is hoping to bask in a few home comforts against the Lions at Ashton Gate.

“I’ve played a few games against Millwall and all of them have been positive results,” he said.

“From what we all know, Millwall are also built on team spirit. They are not easy to break down. They stick together and fight for each other.

“The result against Ipswich – coming back twice from losing positions – gave us even more confidence.

“It is a shame we haven’t won in front of the fans too many times.

“The Millwall match is the perfect opportunity to give them the winning feeling back.”

Bristol City are the sixth club Kalas has enjoyed a loan spell at since joining Premier League giants Chelsea back in 2010.

Despite being something of a journeyman, albeit always on a temporary basis, the defender insists he’s fully committed to the City cause.

“Obviously, I wish that I could find a club to settle down at for a long time but I don’t really mind going on loans,” said Kalas.

“I adapt quite quickly and I’m easy going. I’m not big-headed or arrogant.”
