team mates

- Alan McCormack

Best mate at the club? The closest would probably be Alan Sheehan and James Collins. The three of us sit together and play cards on away trips – we stick together as we’re probably the oldest... Last to buy dinner? I could probably name a few! I’d say the tightest is Danny Hylton. He’s forever late with any fines – I’m in charge of them. He’s constantly arguing over them when he’s bang to rights. I’d say he wouldn’t be one to get his bank card out. He’d be back of the queue. The Fifa king? James Justin’s just good at every game. I believe James Justin, Elliot Lee and Andrew Shinnie are the top three at FIFA. They’re constantly playing. Worst dressed? There’s a few that get a bit of stick but in terms of effort, I’d go Luke Berry. He’s been doing his house up for a while and is constantly coming in with trainers with paint all over them. He must just wake up and put on whatever’s lying on the floor. He’s finally got himself a little trim and tidied himself up a little bit, though! The prematch dressing room DJ? Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu’s in charge of that. He’s got a great mix of stuff – R&B, house, different tunes. On the coach, there are two different speakers: one for the young lads on the Playstation – Pelly’s in charge of that – and Alan Sheehan gets the speaker on our card table, which is a bit more classic, oldschool stuff. Late for training? We’ve a few boys who travel in, so if there are delays on the motorway, they can be stung by that. It’s a hard one, because it’s never really their fault if they’re late. There’s a few who leave it to the last minute, but I’d say Kazenga LuaLua is always in with seconds to spare. Teacher’s pet? With Mick (Harford) being in charge, there’s no real teacher’s pet. Under Nathan (Jones), there isn’t really anyone who jumps out. Luke Berry would come to mind. Nathan loved Glenn Rea and Hylts (Danny Hylton). James Justin could do no wrong – it’s a pretty good bunch, to be honest. First on the dancefloor? Pelly-Ruddock, one million per cent. He’s first out, last in. If we have nights out, he’s guaranteed to be there, always guaranteed to have a smile on his face, always on the dancefloor, always just happy and loving life. He’s an amazing, great character for the dressing room. Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party? I don’t know if I can answer in a polite way! I’ll put the young boy in – Arthur Read – he just gets in a mess and I’ll put him in for that. He gets too excited! The worst tattoo? There’s no-one really with bad ones but Jason Cummings has got a few. He’s got ‘zing’ on his left foot – his first-ever tattoo - and he’s got a set of lips on his hands. Going to make the best manager? Alan Sheehan – definitely – will be a great manager. He’s club captain and man-managing people, speaking to lads of different ages, giving them advice; he keeps the groups together and focused.
