CARING CREWE DO THEIR BIT FOR CHARITY

- By Tom Blackett

CREWE Alexandra sported Prostate Cancer UK branding on the sleeve of their shirt in their FA Cup tie at Accrington Stanley yesterday.

The leading men’s health charity had their logo on the left sleeve of the FA Cup shirt and all of the match shirts will be auctioned off for the charity.

Crewe commercial and marketing manager James Beckett said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with a household name like Prostate Cancer UK.

“As a charity they have done some fantastic work with the EFL in the past few years and we are proud to be joining forces with their team once again.”

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. One man will die from prostate cancer every 45 minutes in the UK - that’s over 11,500 men a year.

Jake Martens, football projects manager at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “It’s great to continue our relationship with Crewe Alexandra, who have been a long-time supporter of Prostate Cancer UK’s work in football.

“On top of dedicated matchdays, participation in our annual Football to Amsterdam bike ride and support for Jeff Stelling’s March for Men in 2017, this is a great addition to our continued work together.

“To donate the sleeve sponsorship for this fixture is testament to the club’s morals and values and we look forward to working with them throughout this season and beyond.”

Crewe boss Dave Artell has joined a host of managers up and down the country and worn the charity’s ‘Man of Men’ pin badge on the touchline.
