CLUBS CASH IN WITH FA CUP LIVE GAMES

FOUR EFL clubs will earn a £75,000 windfall after being chosen for live television coverage in the FA Cup second round.

The winners of Wednesday night’s first round replay between Newport County and managerles­s Grimsby will face a trip to Non-League Maldon & Tiptree, who stunned Leyton Orient last Sunday.

The match has been pencilled in for Friday, November 29 at 7.55pm and will be shown on BBC Two. The following day, League Two high-flyers Crewe will travel to either Eastleigh or Stourbridg­e, who replay on Tuesday. The second round tie kicks off at 5.30pm and is on BT Sport 1.

On Sunday, December 1, either Wycombe or Tranmere – who replay on Wednesday - will entertain minnows Chichester City, who received a bye in the first round. The match is on BT Sport 1 at a time to be confirmed.

The second round draws to a conclusion on Monday, December 2 when Rotherham make the trip to Tim Flowers’ National League outfit Solihull Moors (7.45pm on BT Sport 1).

As well as the live broadcast fee of £75,000 per club, second round winners will trouser £54,000 in prize money and a place in the third round draw, where they could land a tie against one of the country’s giants.

There are two first round replays being televised in the next few days. Bristol Rovers visit Bromley on Tuesday and Walsall go to Darlington on Wednesday. Both kick off at 7.45pm on BT Sport 1. The live broadcast fee is £33,750 per club.
