The Football League Paper

team mates

- Anthony Wordsworth

Best mate?

I would say Mitch Pinnock, just because he’s a funny character. He makes me laugh so I like being around him. He’s got me in tears every single day.

He’s not the sharpest tool in the box, he’s pretty thick to be honest! He’s one of those people that doesn’t mean to be funny but just is.

Last to buy dinner?

Rod McDonald. That guy…honestly! If you went in the petrol station and you asked him to get you a can of Coke, he would actually come out and ask you for the money. He literally squeaks when he walks!

Worst dressed?

That has to be Joe Pigott. He’s got the most money at the club but you just can’t buy class. His gear’s awful, I don’t know how to explain it. Bright clothes, baggy, horrible stuff.

Dressing room DJ?

Joe Pigott is in charge, his taste in music is a lot better than his fashion sense! He gets a lot of high fives in the dressing room.

He’s got a little bit for everyone, he plays a bit of hip-hop for the younger boys, bit of house for the older boys, and a bit of rock ‘n’ roll on there for myself. He’s a crowd pleaser!

Always late for training?

You know what? That’s me! But I’ve found a little back door that I can sneak in, so I get away with it quite a lot.

I catch three trains every day to training, so if one’s late I’m in trouble, and you know what the trains are like!

Teacher’s pet?

Scott Wagstaff, it’s embarrassing! He doesn’t give the manager a yard. He’s hugging him after games, it’s pretty sickening to be honest. He gets away with it as well, I haven’t bantered him about it yet but I’m going to get on to him!

First on the dancefloor?

Everyone gets up, but Shane McLoughlin’s got a bit, to be fair. A lot of the young boys are new to the squad so it’ll be interesting to see what they’ve got to offer. I’m looking forward to seeing Paul Osew on the dancefloor.

Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party?

I think Nathan Trott because he’s young. In pre-season we had a couple of drinks and he fell asleep at the bar, so I’m looking forward to getting a few drinks down him.

Best at FIFA?

From what

I’ve heard, Kwesi Appiah is the best, he’s beating everyone online. When we stay in a hotel on an away game, the boys play, I hadn’t played in three years but still beat Terell Thomas, so you don’t lose it!

Worst tattoo?

I’ve got a few bad ones to be fair. I’ve got an umbrella tattooed on my arm! At the time it seemed like a good idea. My mate’s a tattoo artist and was round his house and told him to do it. Mine are all patchy and I need to go back and get them re-done to

be honest.

Best future manager?

Scott Wagstaff will be next Wimbledon manager, I think, if he gets any closer to Glyn! Actually Tommy Wood has already done his B Licence. I think he’s doing his A at the moment and he’s already got all his coaching badges, so he’ll be up there.

I don’t think he’s planning for a long career in football if he’s doing his badges at 18. I told him he better score some goals or he’ll be a coach soon.
