Best mate?
That’s a hard one. I’m going to have to say Smudge – Michael Smith. There are a few that I get on with. Jamie Lindsay has come in and I’ve gelled quite well with him. I get on well with Icky (Michael Ihiekwe), but I’ll say Smudge because he’s my roommate as well.
Last to buy dinner?
Richard Wood. He owes me about five coffees. When we go for breakfasts in hotels at away games, he always forgets his wallet and I end up paying. I can’t really say much to him because he’s captain and fine master! I don’t think he pays his fines!
Worst dressed?
Jake Hastie. He came in with a pink tracksuit and pink Hugo Boss sliders for the showers. For that reason, I’ll go with him.
Dressing room DJ?
It’s Baz (Joe Mattock); Baz is a DJ, so he gets the tunes on. It’s quite house-y, which I can handle but I think a few lads have been complaining recently! You can’t please everyone.
Always late for training?
No-one’s late, because it’s a big fine, but Carlton Morris always leaves it fine, always gets in at 9.44. You have to be in for 9.45 but we say, if you get in at 9.45 then the train has gone, so it’s 9.44. It’s quite a skill, actually, the way he does it.
Teacher’s pet?
Smudge, he’s the golden child. The gaffer (Paul Warne) gets on to him, but he loves him at the same time – it’s one of those relationships.
First on the dancefloor?
I don’t know – I’ve not been out with them yet! I’m going to say Chiedozie (Ogbene), he’s dancing all the time. He’s alright to be fair, he’s okay.
Most likely to disgrace themselves at the Christmas party?
I’m going to go for Icky; he can’t handle his beer.
Best at FIFA?
There are a few lads that play FIFA. Dan Barlaser is the best, I’ll say him – he says he is. I’ve never played FIFA myself; I’m not a Playstation geezer. We’ve got a card school on the bus instead, there are four of us that play. It’s nothing too high stakes, just a friendly game to pass the time.
Worst tattoo?
There are two very bad ones. It’s either Baz or Woody. I’m going to say Woody, he’s got a tramp stamp, but a man’s version at the bottom of his back. I don’t even know what it is; it’s terrible, I think he got it when he was 16. In any other squad it would be Baz, but Woody’s is definitely worse. Baz has got Mattock across his back, like he’s got a shirt on.
Best future manager?
I’m going to say Woody. He’s doing his badges at the moment as well, so I’ll give him a bit of confidence. He’s one of the senior pros, is doing his badges and does try and speak to the younger lads that have come in and point them in the right direction.
