DAPO’S POSITIVE BOLTON CAN GET SUCCESS

- By Peter White

BOLTON may be among the most in-form outfits in the EFL at present, but on-loan midfielder Dapo Afolayan insists there’s plenty more to come from the Trotters before the end of the season.

Since making the temporary switch from West Ham at the start of February, the 23-year-old had played a key part in a run of eight wins in ten games pre-weekend that had seen Ian Evatt’s men quickly push towards promotion.

Having previously turned out for Oldham and Mansfield in the fourth tier, Afolayan believes his relationship with the likes of Eoin Doyle and Antoni Sarcevic at the University of Bolton Stadium is now getting the best out of him.

And under Evatt’s tutelage, Afolayan is confident Bolton can continue their strong run and go on to secure an immediate return to League One.

He said: “We’re getting better with each game and people can see that. I feel we’re going to keep pushing on and get to where we want to be.

“It’s easy to play in a team like this when you’ve got so many good players around you. We all feed off each other and the team chemistry is great considering we haven’t been able to train that much in the last month.

“There are some great boys and professionals in the group.

“The management and coaching staff have all been really good. It’s been really good for me, helped me out massively and I’m learning a lot in every game.

“The manager has been great with me. He lets me go out there and express myself. It’s always good to have that freedom.

“All I want to do is improve every week, play week in, week out and I think we’re going in the right direction.”

QPR manager Mark Warburton believes “there is a lot more to come” from midfielder Chris Willock.

The 23-year-old former Arsenal youngster has taken time to find consistency since being brought back to London after a spell at Benfica.

But he has been superb of late and was the architect of Ilias Chair’s first-half winner against Wycombe in midweek.

Warburton said:

“Chris is a very talented player. He just needs to have that mindset of how you can impact games.

He’s a very talented player. I think there’s a lot more to come from him.”
