Food and drink festival will make welcome return
A FOOD and drink festival is returning to Renfrewshire next month.
Dozens of traders will be offering tasty treats and tipples as the Paisley Food and Drink Festival is staged in Abbey Close and Bridge Street.
The fun will take place from 4pm until 10pm on Friday, April 26, and from noon until 9pm on Saturday, April 27.
Among those preparing to set up stalls are Pizza Geeks, Wing Theory, Dessert Box, Paisley Drinks Company and Two Towns Down Brewing, who will be offering a beer brewed especially for the festival.
There will also be The Brew Hub tented area, which will be on the grass in Cotton Street.
Live entertainment will be provided courtesy of designated busking stations and performances from the likes of Rockus Choir and Fèis Phàislig.
Youngsters will be well catered for too, as they can enjoy pizza-making workshops, free face painting, inflatables and balloon modelling.
There will also be the new Story Wagon, which delivers storytelling performances and creative writing activities.
Pauline Allan, Renfrewshire Council’s events manager, said: “The Paisley Food and Drink Festival is always a popular event in our calendar and attracts visitors from all over to enjoy the food, drink and atmosphere on offer.
“This year’s festival is set to be our biggest yet, with more traders taking part and a jampacked programme of live entertainment.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone along for two days of fantastic entertainment, delicious street food and much more. “Come along and join the fun.”
