DOZENS of pothole-ridden roads and cracked footways across Renfrewshire are to undergo a much-needed makeover.
Renfrewshire Council is to invest a total of £5million in roads maintenance and improvements in this financial year, adding to the £6.7m spent in 2023/24.

In neighbouring Elderslie, work will take place on Main Road, from Stoddard Square to Wallace Court, and Glenpatrick Road, while Kilbarchan motorists will benefit from improvements on Tandlehill Road.
Roads in Renfrew that will be resurfaced include Fulbar Street, Nethergreen Road, Newmains Road and Wright Street.
The list in Erskine features Old Greenock Road and Bargarran Road, while Linwood routes include Bridge Street and Barochan Road.
Elsewhere, improvements will be carried out on Bridge of Weir Road and Bonar Crescent, both in Bridge of Weir, Burnlea Crescent, in Houston, and Newton of Barr, in Lochwinnoch.
Roads in Paisley that will benefit include Causeyside Street, Mill Street, New Street, Old Sneddon Street, Neilston Road, Broomlands Street, Greenock Road, Weir Street, Inchinnan Road, Old Mill Road, Incle Street, Stoney Brae, Hamilton Street, Glenfield Road, Abbotsinch Road, Gleniffer Road, Orchy Crescent, Breck Avenue, Balgonie Avenue, Cairngorm Crescent, Strathcarron Drive, Hunterhill Road, Ferguslie Park Avenue, Glenapp Road, Montrose Road and Burnfoot Crescent.
Paisley sites in line for footway resurfacing include Lochfield
Drive, Bruce Road, Lochfield Road, Endrick Drive, Ballater Drive, Lansbury Gardens, Rowan Street, Thornly Park Avenue, Todholm Terrace, Braeview Gardens and Netherhill Way.
Footpaths in Erskine that will benefit are in Park Grove, Park Drive, Rattray and Portessie.
The list also includes Kingston Road and Maxwell Road, both in Bishopton, Edzell Drive, in Elderslie, and Paisley Road and Inchinnan
Road, both in Renfrew.
Councillor Kenny MacLaren, an SNP representative for Paisley Northwest, said: “I’m happy with the roads included in my ward which are needing resurfaced.
“Overall it’s good to see this much-needed investment in roads in Paisley and across Renfrewshire.”
Councillor Will Mylet, who represents Paisley East and Central for the SNP, added: “I’ve been asking for Glenapp Road to be resurfaced for a few years now, so I’m glad that’s finally being done.
“I’ve been chasing them up on potholes there in this last year, so I’m delighted to see it on there for works in this financial year.”
Reserve lists have been drafted for other crumbling carriageways and footpaths, in case repairs at any of the locations already chosen have to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
