A NURSERY has been labelled “outstanding” following a successful Ofsted inspection.

New Life Day Care and Family Centre provides childcare for children from the ages of six weeks up to 11 years old and gives community physiotherapy, midwifery and support at its family centre.

The Low Grange Avenue nursery, previously rated good in 2017, is now celebrating an “outstanding” inspection result.

The report found “children thrive” at the “warm and friendly nursery,” where “passionate and nurturing staff” maintain a safe and secure environment.

The Billingham care centre said it was excited to “shout it from the rooftops” about how proud it was of its team.

The nursery was praised for its response and adaptation during the pandemic, where staff are said to have maintained great contact with families.

The report said: “Staff telephoned families weekly, carried out home visits, shared photographs and dropped off food and resource packs. Following the restrictions, leaders have prioritised children’s communication and language skills.”

The report also applauded staff, adding they “expertly teach all age groups new words and their meanings” and how they “have high expectations of what children can do and achieve.”

Behaviour as a whole was commended, the report explaining how children behave well at the nursery.

It added: “Children show kindness and friendship and support each

other. They are polite, well-mannered and give a warm welcome to visitors. They have a strong sense of belonging and everyone is celebrated and supported.”

Michele Smith, manager at New Life Day Care, said: “We are so proud to be officially rated as an outstanding setting by Ofsted.

“The team dedicates a lot of itstime and has a passion to support and care for children and their families.

“The children love attending nursery and are happy and safe in their environment. We are delighted with our achievements.”

In a Facebook post, the school added: “So we can finally shout it from the rooftops – New Life Day Care is Outstanding.

“We are so proud of the team, of the management, of the children.

“New Life Day Care is a charity attached to New Life Church Teesside and for more than 25 years has been providing affordable childcare for families in Billingham.

“Thank you to every family we come in to contact with, we value you more than you will know.”
