FBI RAID MAY PROVE A TRUMP CARD

RATHER THAN PUTTING THE BILLIONAIRE OFF ANOTHER PRESIDENTIAL RUN, THE BUREAU’S RECENT ACTION WILL ONLY MAKE ONE MORE LIKELY

TWICE impeached, accused of rape and numerous sexual assaults, facing criminal and civil investigations into him and his family business and now an FBI raid on his prize home.

Yet despite it all, Donald Trump is still teasing a presidential run in 2024.

“We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again,” he told an audience of his supporters at the weekend.

“I ran twice, I won twice ... and we may have to do it again.”

Anyone who doubted he would try again for the White House needs to look closely at recent events, especially those on Monday when the FBI stormed his Mar-a-Lago home.

Many would think such agents “raiding” his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, looking for classified documents possibly taken when he left the Oval Office, would put the brakes on such ambitions.

But if anything, such dramatic actions against him by the US Justice Department only serve to blow even more hot air into his already overinflated ego.

You only need to look to the past to see how political investigations that have threatened Trump have only increased his misguided appeal among supporters.

Since losing the 2020 ballot to Joe Biden, he’s been able to raise hundreds of millions of dollars based on telling his core fans there’s a conspiracy that denied him re-election. Actual proof of criminal targeting while under a Biden White House is rocket fuel to his MAGA followers.

All signs still point to a Trump 2024 run, and America should ignore them at its peril. Doing so would lose vital time in reminding the world of the “clear and present danger” he poses and preparing for how best to defeat him.

In recent weeks, we’ve witnessed an avalanche of evidence from the House committee investigating the events of the storming of the Capitol in January 6 about Trump’s potential criminality leading up to and on that deadly day.

Even before Monday’s search, there has been news of an acceler

ating Justice Department investigation considering whether Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election.

But the FBI’s raid will act as a siren call to the billionaire as he continues to vindicate his general election loss and his desire to seek revenge – especially against a Justice Department that is upping its investigation of his actions.

Given all these factors, whatever legal jeopardy he may be in, we should expect a Trump announcement soon after the November midterm elections saying he intends to be the first president to have ever had an election stolen and live to win four years later.

Federal law says anyone holding classified documents illegally “shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States,” which is why Trump is going to run.

He’ll want to portray any criminal probe or prosecution as a plot to prevent him from becoming president again.

Many of his followers, including those in the UK, will believe it – as they did his lies about the last election.
