Restaurant owner set to open third Tees venue

-

A TEESSIDE restaurant owner has announced a third venue. The Open Jar has gone from strength to strength since opening its branches at Seaton Carew and Norton.

Owner Joe Franks says it’s “all down to the huge success” of his first two eateries as he confirmed “Open Jar Number Three” will be coming to a new multi-million pound retail and leisure destination on Teesside’s doorstep.

The latest restaurant will open at the Treadmills development, on the site of the old Northallerton Prison, two minutes’ walk from the high street.

Treadmills will have retail, restaurants, cafes, apartments and a “tech hub” once complete.

It has been branded as a “once in

a multi-generation opportunity” to help safeguard the future prosperity of the town.

“Wow, waited years to finally get the third site and here it is,” Joe posted on social media. “We are coming to Northallerton.

“We will be part of the new complex at The Treadmills which will house an Everyman Cinema, which we will sit directly underneath of.”

Completion of the site will be in eight weeks, he added.

“Then we can start our own fit out, planning to open around Christmas time – all being well.

“Me and the team couldn’t be more excited to expand The Open Jar out, particularly into such a huge project like this one.

“The only way this has been possible is down to the huge success of The Open Jar Norton and Seaton, so I’d like to thank the staff past and present for helping us to build a terrific brand and of course all our loyal customers who have been with us since the Marina days.”

Joe, who moved his Hartlepool Marina restaurant to the seafront at Seaton last year, also recently announced he’s taking over the former Popworld in the town.
