Toasting the success of craft beer duo
TWO Teesside craft beer firms have been named among the best in the world.
The Craft Beer Marketing
Awards (CBMAs) has announced the winners of its 2022 season in the US.
There are just 10 winners from the UK – and two are from our area.
Salt Steel Brewing from Billingham and LemonTop Creative, a beer branding agency based in Middlesbrough, have both been handed gongs by a panel of top judges.
The CBMAS is the only global awards competition to “recognise and celebrate the importance of craft beer artwork, culture, retail marketing and design efforts as a key to success” in the “highly competitive” marketplace.
“The CBMAS have grown dramatically since its founding in 2019,” a spokesperson said.
“This year a judge panel of over 500 industry professionals from over 24 countries around the world have evaluated entries in over 40 categories from around the globe.
Salt Steel Brewing is a brewery founded by Liam Senior, which says it “stands proud” with its craft beer brothers and sisters, “joining the fight against crap commercial beer”. “We all deserve better beer
in our glasses,” says Liam. “There is a choice.”
Salt Steel brews products including Strip Tees, UTB Lager and Transporter (Porter) and its ‘flagship’ lager Under The Bridge.
LemonTop Creative was launched by graphic designers Arron Stoutt, Andy Mogg (from Redcar) and Steve Gill – and takes
its name from the three friends’ favourite childhood treat. They’ve even launched their own gin, setting up a distillery to run alongside their design studio.
Salt Beer Brewing Co won in the Best Brand Identity and the Best Sustainability and Environmental categories. LemonTop Creative won the Best Can Design gong for 4T Brewery’s canned beer range.
CBMA winners were announced in two ceremonies, with some taking to the stage in Minneapolis and other attending a virtual event via Facebook Live.
A total of 250 awards were presented to winning brewers, designers, and marketing agencies from throughout the world.
