Fresh era for street food joint as it finds new home

CLUCK & MOO HOPES TO GROW ITS ‘AWESOME VIBE’

- By ALEX O’LEARY

A ROTISSERIE street food and cocktail bar is set to move into a new Redcar home where its “awesome vibe can grow”.

Cluck & Moo has announced that it will be moving from its home on Millbank Terrace into the former Bonkers building on the town’s seafront. The eatery and bar, which serves up Caribbean food based around a menu of chicken and beef dishes, will make the jump in just a matter of weeks on July 12.

A new ‘mouth-watering’ street food and cocktail menu – as well as bottomless brunch being on offer six days a week – are just some of the exciting new features set to grace customers at the new location, with the site also having a late licence for their ‘cool as Cluck’ bar.

Bonkers opened up on The Esplanade earlier last year following a huge makeover and investment. The site was put on the market at the end of 2022, with agent King’s describing it as an “exceptional commercial opportunity” in a “prime seafront trading position”.

Cluck & Moo launched at its home on Millbank Terrace, in the former Italia restaurant, just last year and has proven a hit with customers ever since. The idea for the rotisserie bistro was sparked after the owner Arran Addison’s trip to Mexico was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, with him opting to go to Jamaica instead. He loved the food there so much that he came home and started planning Cluck & Moo. With a 4.4 star rating on Google reviews, happy customers have praised the venue for its “delicious” burgers and fries and “amazing” menu.

One person said: “What can I say other than a meat lovers’ paradise –

and they have Red Stripe on tap. [The] second time we have been when visiting Redcar and will be back for a third time next time we are down.”

The new location will also see the launch of a new Parmo menu – with the venue promising it will come in Cluck & Moo style.

Announcing the move on Facebook, the venue said: “We have been very busy behind the scenes searching for a new home for Cluck & Moo. A place our awesome vibe can grow. As of July 12, we will be taking over the Bonkers building on the seafront.

“Please believe me when I say this place has been built with love, passion, and dedication to detail with no expense spared.

“This means we no longer have to turn down bookings for our awesome bottomless brunch and can keep up with demand.

“Our bottomless brunch just got bigger and will be available six days a week! We will be launching with a new mouthwatering rotisserie street menu (including a very cool breakfast menu) exciting new cocktail menu and a few surprises to be announced.

“We will also be operating as a cool as Cluck bar with a late license.

“Let’s get this show on the road.”

Please believe me when I say this place has been built with love, passion, and dedication.
