Fiona Barltrop finds summer on the Pembrokeshire coast

THIS IS A YEAR that will go down in history for obvious reasons. It also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which was officially opened on 16 May 1970. Who would have thought that much of this wonderful path would find itself closed ‘in the interest of public health’ on its 50th birthday? I first walked it 25 years ago and was duly hooked. I’ve re-walked most sections a number of times since (that round Milford Haven being the main exception), and had hoped to be back this year...

But back to the summer before last, and happier times: I’m on board
