The Herald unveils new obituaries service for readers

-

THE Herald has a long and proud tradition of publishing obituaries of people in the public eye.

Now we are launching a new service that will offer readers the opportunity of having a piece published about someone they know who has died recently.

We will carry as many of these additional obituaries in either our print edition, our website, or both.

A special page has been created on our website, Heraldscotland.com, where readers can submit these obituaries directly.

Magnus Llewellin, editor of The Herald, said: “We are pleased to offer readers this additional service and believe many of them will be interested in contributing.

“It gives readers the opportunity to have friends, relatives and colleagues remembered on Heraldscot- land.com and we will also carry some of these obituaries in our print edition.”

The new page on our website where obituaries can be submitted directly can be found at bit.ly/herald-obits.

Our existing obituaries coverage remains and we continue to welcome information and suggestions for this page.

Has someone you know died recently who should feature here? Or do you have a personal memory or addition to make to a published obituary?

Please call Mark Smith on 0141 302 7008, write to him at The Herald, 200 Renfield Street, Glasgow, G2 3QB or email obituaries@theherald.co.uk. You can also follow @heraldobits on Twitter.

The Herald reserves the right to edit submitted material.
