Unclaimed Lottery prizes are worth £1m

-

TWO people who bought lottery tickets in Scotland are millionaires – but may not know it yet.

EuroMillions tickets bought in the south of Edinburgh and in the Kilmarnock area both won £1 million and a US Trip of a Lifetime, but the prizes have yet to be claimed.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline of September 21, then the prize money and all the interest it has generated will go to National Lotteryfunded projects.

A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re desperate to find these mystery ticket-holders and unite them with their winnings. This amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.

“We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing; in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

To help jog people’s memories, football fans may remember that on the Thursday, March 24 Scotland managed to beat the Czech Republic 1-0 away from home in a friendly.

The winning selection on March 25 for the Edinburgh prize of £1m was JGC965039. The same £1m prize remains unclaimed in Kilmarnock and Loudoun in Ayrshire, with the code JGB629631.
