CAREER HIGH AND LOW

Working on Murdered By My Father was something that helped get me known in the industry and incredible to have done, but filming it was very difficult.

I found it challenging and I hadn’t had much experience of film, television or work. I wasn’t very good at disassociating myself from the character. It was such a dark subject matter.

FAVOURITE FILM Burn After Reading.

LAST BOOK READ

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I had started watching the TV show and loved it, but everyone recommended reading the book first.

BEST TRAIT

I’m relatively smiley.

WORST TRAIT

I can be quite impatient.

BEST ADVICE RECEIVED The actor Paul Shelley told me: “Don’t let the b ****** s grind you down.”

BIGGEST INFLUENCE

My sister, who works for the NHS as a nurse. In fact, all my sisters and my mother are formidable women. They are strong-minded and have high willpower. They don’t let me away with any s***.

FAVOURITE MEAL

Anything Mexican.

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION

Iceland.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

I don’t listen to a lot of music.

I use it mainly for parts and characters. My dad always played Queen in the house when I was growing up.

IDEAL DINNER GUESTS

A bunch of my pals. I’m quite a private eater, so I don’t think I would want my role models watching me eat. When I was in the

Australian Girls Choir – I would have been around nine or 10 – Nelson Mandela, pictured, listened to us sing and then we all had dinner, so that one is ticked.
