Rapist told he might be locked up for life

-

A CHILD rapist who was released from prison and carried out sex attacks on two women has been warned he faces a life sentence.

Andrew Anderson raped both the women at houses in Ayrshire after he was earlier jailed for six years for his attack on a 13-year-old girl who had called at his then home in Kilmarnock.

Anderson, 33, forced himself on the schoolgirl during the assault in April 2005 and was later sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh.

As well as being jailed he was ordered to be kept under supervision.

Following his early release in 2010 he committed a further rape against a woman who was sleeping and under the influence of cannabis at a house in Cumnock in Ayrshire.

Anderson carried out another rape between June 2014 and May 2015 against a further victim at a house in Kilmarnock.

He molested the woman and refused to leave her alone before raping her.

Anderson, a prisoner in Glasgow’s Barlinnie jail, had denied the offences at an earlier trial but was convicted of the two most recent rapes and a further indecency charge against an underage girl.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard that Anderson continued to protest his innocence but had expressed a willingness to undertake sex offender work.

The judge, Lord Armstrong, called for a full risk assessment report to be prepared on Anderson which could lead to the making of an Order for Lifelong Restriction.

He adjourned Anderson’s case until June 4.
